Our Mitzvah DJ's are experienced MC's (Master of Ceremony) and are helpful with
ideas to make your Bar or Bat Mitzvah a huge success! They know how to help you build an itinerary, suggest music, games
& prizes. But most of all, they are FUN! Here's a list of some of the things our DJ's can do for you:
GRAND ENTERANCE: the DJ makes introductions which includes immediate family members, step-parents
(if applicable), and how you would like them announced. Choose a song to accompany each person walking in. You
can choose different songs for each person or one for the entire group.
MOTZI, TOAST & KIDDISH:
the DJ introduces guests that will be performing these honors. The Kiddish is not always performed at the reception.
CANDLE LIGHTING: the DJ annouces the names of the individuals who will be coming up
to the candle table. The usual order for candle lighting is Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, older relatives, younger
relatives, Parent's friends, Child's friends, Parents, Siblings, and the Bar/Bat Mitzvah. The amount of candles
is 14 (13 candles + 1 for good luck!) It's best to group relatives and friends together to keep the amount of candles
to 14. If you would like a memory candle to acknowledge a deceased loved one, your DJ can do this for you.
You'll also need to choose songs to coordinate with each candle. You may choose all Jewish music, any song (preferably
upbeat), or a combination of both. You may want to match a specific song to each person or group of people lighting
the candles. If you don't have specific preferences for songs, our DJ/MC's will choose the upbeat music for
you to complement each candle.
HORA: the DJ plays a hora medley of traditional
music for this. Choose which immediate family members you would like to be lifted in the chair during the hora.
SPECIAL
ANNOUNCEMENTS: the DJ makes any special announcements about any guest that you would like announced (i.e.
birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, ect.)
GAMES: the DJ plays games and gives
away prizes. Popular games include; Coke & Pepsi, Musical Chairs, Limbo, Huggie Bear, Dance Contest, Hula
Hoop Contest, Mummy Wrap, Twist Contest & Simon Says. The games may also include a karaoke (idol)contest.
SPECIAL DANCES: the DJ plays songs off the must play list you provide. Your
DJ can also suggest songs for special dances.
